FAMILY BUSINESS

Owned and operated by local brothers, Tak and Tu Mutu, the Mountain Bike Rotorua whānau (family) is one that was born from an ethos of ensuring that every experience is always about the people first. Our crew of professional and personable guides carry on the traditional beliefs of Māori such as Manaakitanga (caring for those around us), Kaitiakitanga (protecting our planet and people) and Whanaungatanga (creating lasting relationships with those we bring in to our lives).

Mountain Bike Rotorua is dedicated to providing top service with Retail, Shuttles, Tours, Skills Clinics and our primary service of Bike Hire, always stocking quality rides for a range of abilities and sizes. From trailer bikes to all-mountain enduro rigs, everyone should be looked after when they come to enjoy our backyard. Also on site is a retail store with a bike mechanic available in peak times for those last minute touch ups or repairs on the bike. Riding gear is available here for those who can't travel with every single piece of kit they own.

ROTORUA

Rotorua is an adventure destination without compare. At the heart of it all is the Whakarewarewa Redwood forest. With over 200km of twisting, turning mountain bike trails it's no wonder that we have quickly become one of the top riding trail networks in the world. Mountain Bike Rotorua started with a vision to provide visitors to Whakarewarewa with a level of friendly, professional service and the type of facilities that such a world class natural attraction deserves but has not until now had.

WHAKAREWAREWA, REDWOOD FOREST

Along with her natural beauty, the true strength of our forest is that it caters to all levels of Mountain Bike interest. It doesn't matter if you've never been mountain biking before or if you live, eat, breathe and dream about your next MTB fix, Whakarewarewa Forest has trails for you. With more than 200kms of mountain biking trail loop options for you to choose and explore you can opt to hire our bikes for 2 hours, half day, full day, or go on multi-day adventures.

FOREST INFORMATION

Our staff range from downhill extreme riders to leisure trail enthusiasts. With our knowledgeable staff and our resources, we will be able to point you in the right direction for whatever activities you wish to partake in. Whether you are seeking advice on accommodation in Queenstown, activities in Taupō, somewhere good to eat in Hamilton or just a friendly chat about our favourite trails to ride, we are there to help in what ever way we can. Come and chat to one of our friendly staff and we’ll see you right.

RETAIL SHOP

To compliment our professional facilities we have a small retail shop with a range of product such as bike tubes, pumps, helmets, gloves, tools and lubrication as well as some custom Mountain Bike Rotorua clothing. So if you have come for the weekend and forgotten one of your essentials then come and see us, we are sure we can help you.

OUR CAFE

Rounding out the MTB Rotorua Hub we have the unique  WHEELHOUSE COFFEE SHOP at Te Puia in the Southern Carpark (next to the big roundabout). Try our world famous Banana Coffee Smoothies or get your coffee fix before heading out riding or walking on the trails of the Titokorangi and Whakarewarewa Forests. Wheelhouse Coffee Shop uses Mourea Coffee beans. We love the Rottweiler roast - a mixed origin dark roast for the avid coffee drinker, this one has bite!
