We are looking for new whānau to join our Cafe Crew. Our Cafe Crew are friendly, helpful, love the team atmosphere and are passionate about caring for all our manuhiri, and locals alike, to Rotorua.
The Mountain Bike Rotorua whānau (family) is one that was born from an ethos of ensuring that every experience is always about people. Our professional and personable crew follow traditional Māori values of Kaitiakitanga (guardians of place and people), Manaakitanga (building integrity and strength in each other), Whanaungatanga (creating lasting relationships with all those whose paths we cross) and Kotahitanga (coming together and moving forward as one).

MBR Crew are employed to work on the frontline at one or more work sites for Mountain Bike Rotorua. Staff members are responsible for the frontline operations of several organisational areas. Staff are rostered to specific sites and responsibilities for the day are delegated by the Duty Manager. Whilst the responsibilities of MBR Crew are multi-faceted, staff members may be hired for their specific expertise in one or more of the following departments:

Café Operations

Bike Operations
The goals for Bike Operations are to:
1. ensure every customer is greeted and comprehensively briefed in a professional and friendly manner
2. consistently check that all bikes are safe to ride.
3. provide the best customer experience in the industry
4. provide customers with a high quality, diverse range of retail products presented in a professional setting.
5. give helpful advice on purchase options.

An interest in cycling and the outdoors and bike mechanics

Bike Operations

customers with high quality barista made beverages
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a crew member of MBR Bike Operations you will be expected to assist with:
-
Customer interaction and service
-
Checking Bikes in and out.
-
Undertaking basic mechanical checks.
-
Briefing customers on how to operate the bikes and on appropriate trail options for their riding ability.
-
Comprehensive safety briefing of bike, helmet, forest signage/hazards, emergency procedures.
-
Retail sales, money handling and POS/till operation.
-
Advising customers on appropriate retail purchases, especially bike accessories and parts.
As a crew member of MBR Café Operations you will be expected to:

Operate Wheelhouse Coffee
-
Provide the best customer service in the industry
-
Undertake accurate Point of Sale operations, including cashing up
-
Ensuring that all beverages are made to the highest of standards
-
Basic food prep and presentation
-
Food hygiene and maintaining a clean work space
Health and Safety
-
Adopt a positive and focused approach to health and safety in the workplace, to ensure active steps are taken to ensure own wellbeing and wellbeing of others.

Follow all MBR health and safety practices, systems, and processes.

Carry out required reporting for hazards, accidents, and incidents.

Continually seek to isolate and eliminate hazards.

Wear all required PPE
