MOUNTAIN BIKE ROTORUA FOREST ACADEMY
The Mountain Bike Rotorua Forest Academy is being established to formalize and professionalize the athlete support and pathways that the MDA Group currently undertake.

There are 3 divisions in the Academy:
1) Professional Athlete Support
2) Athlete Development Support
3) Community Engagement Support

The divisions allow us to provide pathways and support for aspiring athletes and community advocates alike. The support provided by the Mountain Bike Rotorua Forest Academy ranges from product and mentoring to cash sponsorship and active promotion of individuals and organisations.

Tuhoto-Ariki Pene

Quick Profile: A local to Rotorua, Tuhoto has worked hard with the support of his family to achieve a life goal of becoming a professional athlete, being picked up by MS Mondraker in 2022.

Lachie Stevens-McNab

Club: Descend Rotorua

Quick Profile: Born and raised in Rotorua, Lachie's success on the bike started years ago being crowned as a world champion BMX. Those skills from his early days have seen hime smash out an amazing last couple of years in MTB with podiums at World Cup and now riding professionally with Santa Cruz and Union.
Jenna Hastings

Quick Profile: Te gutsy Rotorua local took the world by storm in 2021 smashing out amazing results at Crankworx Rotorua and in the Crankworx NZ Summer Series, finishing the season with being crowned the 2021-22 NZ National Champ.

Quick Profile: Born and raised in Rotorua, Poppy and her family are integral members of the Rotorua community who actively support participation and development in the sport of mountain biking.

Quick Profile: An inspiring, positive and energetic part of the mtb community, Lynette joins our Community Leader programme to continue driving good vibes while progressing her own racing development.

Caitlin Flavell
Team: One Pure Racing

Quick Profile: Joining the team at One Pure Racing this year, Caitlin has made the jump from BMX to MTB, focussing on ride down hills, fast, like really fast. After a successful National Series she now turns her focus to racing internationally.

MOUNTAIN BIKE ROTORUA FOREST ACADEMY CODE OF CONDUCT:
All Mountain Bike Rotorua Forest Academy representatives and members are expected to:

Demonstrate through words and actions the spirit of sportsmanship, sports leadership and ethical conduct.

Treat others with respect and refrain from negative or disparaging remarks or conduct.

Not knowingly place themselves in a situation that could give rise to a conflict between personal interests and the interests of Mountain Bike Rotorua Forest Academy.

Comply at all times with the bylaws, policies, rules and regulations of Mountain Bike Rotorua Forest Academy as adopted and amended from time to time.

Respect basic human rights.

Work in a spirit of cooperation with others, assisting less experienced colleagues, and refraining from public criticism of others.

Refrain from, and refuse to tolerate in others, any form of harassment or abuse be it physical, verbal, mental or sexual of athletes, officials and other people involved in athletics.

Not act in any way that brings the sport of mountain biking, MDA Group, Mountain Bike Rotorua or any other partner organisation into disrepute.

At all times, be honest and act in the best interests of the community.
